Radio Expres with new owner in the next few weeks
The sale of the company D. Expres, which holds
the license for broadcasting of the Slovakian most listened to radio station, has been approved today by the Council for Broadcasting and Retransmission (CBR). According to its decision, the stocks of the current owners – the company Emmis International Holding and the radio’s director Eva Babitzová – can be bought by the German company Bauer Ausland 1 GmbH.
“The whole transaction is in the state of negotiations, which should be finished in a few coming weeks,” stated Eva Babitzová today.
The company Bauer Ausland 1 is a part of the
media group Bauer Media, which is active
in 16 countries, Slovakia being one of them. The group has had the experiences with radio broadcasting only in Poland and Great Britain.
The subsidiary of Bauer Media in Slovakia has been focusing on magazines for
women and young adults, society & culture and television guides (e.g. Rytmus života, Telemagazín, Eurotelevízia.
